Veneers

Dental veneers are thin layers of porcelain or ceramic used to laminate the surface of teeth to cover chips, cracks, or discoloration. These ultra-thin protective covers are custom-designed for each person and provide dramatic cosmetic enhancement, strength, and resilience to the teeth they are bonded to.

Veneers can be used to improve the appearance of teeth that have uneven spacing, are misaligned, worn out, chipped, cracked, or fractured. They are fabricated to match your natural tooth color and luster. They are also stain resistant and extremely durable, capable of lasting several years.

Veneers can be installed in two dental visits. During the first visit, our team will listen to all your needs and expectations and will perform an X-ray to make sure you’re a good candidate for veneers. Your dentist will remove a tiny portion of your tooth enamel to make room for the veneer. Impressions of your teeth will then be taken to custom-fabricate your veneers.

On your second visit, your tooth will be etched to roughen the enamel, and a dental adhesive is used to bond the veneer to the tooth. There is zero recovery time, and you can immediately resume your regular lifestyle.

Crowns

Crowns are prosthetic devices used to fully cover the part of a tooth that’s visible above the gumline. They are like tiny jackets that restore damaged teeth while providing them protection, stability, and durability. You may require dental crowns if more than half a tooth is damaged from decay or fracture, to protect a tooth after root canal treatment, or if a tooth has excessive wear and tear due to grinding. Crowns can also be used cosmetically to fix abnormally spaced teeth, or to restore natural luster to discolored and stained teeth.

Several kinds of crowns are available, including gold, stainless steel, ceramic, glass, porcelain, and porcelain fused to metal. Each material has pros and cons. Your dentist will help you choose the right crown for you, based on factors such as location of the tooth, condition of surrounding gums, visibility of the crown when you smile, and your own personal preferences.

Receiving a crown requires two dental visits. During the first visit, our team will take X-rays and prepare the tooth. Impressions of your mouth will be taken to custom-fabricate the crown to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth. A temporary crown is placed to cover and protect the prepared tooth until your second visit to the dentist. During your second visit, the doctor will remove the temporary crown and replace it with a custom-fabricated permanent crown.

Dental Bridge

A dental bridge, like its name suggests, spans the gap that appears when a tooth has been lost. Dental bridges can replace missing teeth and provide you with a uniform, beautiful, and symmetric smile; restore lost confidence by improving your ability to talk and chew properly; prevent teeth from shifting or tilting into the gap left by a missing tooth; or readjust your bite or alignment.

There are several types of dental bridges. Traditional bridges are most commonly used for replacing a single missing tooth. This type of bridge consists of a false tooth to fill the gap, and crowns fitted to the two natural teeth on either side of it. Cantilever bridges are just like traditional bridges but are used when a patient has only one tooth adjacent to the gap.

A Maryland bridge, also known as resin-bonded bridge, is an alternative to traditional bridges. Rather than filing down the adjacent natural teeth, as is done with a traditional bridge, Maryland bridges use a metal framework bonded to the back of adjacent teeth.

Implant-supported bridges are used when you have more than one missing tooth. This bridge is supported by false tooth roots that are installed in the jaw. One implant is placed for each missing tooth, and this series of implants holds the bridge in place.

Dental bridges are custom-fabricated for each patient and can be installed in two visits to our office. We will provide you with a temporary bridge to serve as a placeholder while the permanent bridge is being made.

Teeth Whitening

It is only natural that, over time, teeth start losing their luster. With age, the enamel becomes porous and absorbs stain-causing substances. This effect can be worsened by consuming certain beverages and foods, smoking or chewing tobacco, or brushing and flossing improperly. In addition, discoloration can result from some medicines and medical treatments, mouth rinses, dental trauma, or exposure to excessive amounts of fluoride.

Fortunately, discoloration can be removed using a non-invasive whitening process. Many at-home products claim to whiten teeth, but you will get better, faster results by going to a dentist.

After a thorough dental cleaning, your dentist will apply a whitening gel that is highly concentrated with oxidizing agents to break down stains. A beam of ultraviolet rays is used to activate the gel and release the oxidizing agents. This process may be repeated a few times to obtain optimum results. We will also custom-fabricate a whitening tray that can be used at home for touch-ups and prolonging the result of the in-office treatment.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

For people considering orthodontics, Invisalign can be an excellent alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign is a series of clear trays that fit over the teeth and are virtually unnoticeable to others. Many people, particularly adults, prefer this method to traditional metal braces.

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with malocclusion, a condition where the teeth are not properly positioned. Malocclusion is not only an aesthetic concern. Severe malocclusion affects eating, speaking, and keeping the teeth clean, which results in early tooth loss due to tooth decay and causes stress on the muscles used to chew.

You will likely want to consider orthodontic treatment if you have protruding front teeth, asymmetrical teeth, crowding of teeth, spacing between the teeth, impacted teeth, crossbite, overbite or underbite.

Orthodontic devices put pressure on the teeth and jaws and help to move teeth and affect the growth of jaw musculature. Invisalign has several benefits over traditional metal braces. They are more comfortable than metallic braces and are completely invisible. They can also be removed while cleaning teeth and eating food, making it easier to maintain good oral hygiene.

Invisalign works by applying continuous pressure to the teeth, gradually moving them into proper position. Each clear tray is custom-made for you, and working in consultation with your dentist, you’ll progress from one tray to another until you have achieved the desired, pre-planned result.

Composite Fillings

Composite fillings are used to repair teeth with decay, chips, cracks, cavities, and gaps. These tooth-colored fillings are fabricated from a mixture of plastic and powdered glass and are often used for cosmetic enhancements.

Composite fillings blend in well with neighboring teeth and give a natural appearance. They have benefits beyond aesthetics as well. Composite fillings directly bond to the tooth structure and strengthen teeth immensely. They do not cause irritability or sensitivity to the surrounding gums. They also require less drilling, are easily placed, and take only a few seconds to harden. Because of this, composite fillings require just a single visit to the dentist.
